Perhaps that is all we have in common, because truth is: no two women are the same.
You hear people say that women are confident, empowered, from Venus. Not all of them are. Some are strong-willed; others are intelligent. Some are shy; others are athletic. Some have changed the world; others have changed their world.
Yet, through our individual, unique stories, we relate to each other. That we are women means we are a collective. That we are different means we are powerful.
Through the lens of photographer Farras Oran, the stories of inspiring women are transformed into living works of art. Together, we take an insightful and real journey into each woman’s ambition, challenges and successes.
These women remind us of our individual and collective power, and for that we are grateful.

Zeina Barhoum 
Zeina Barhoum is Jordan’s beloved award-winning opera singer and advocate of the UN’s WFP.
Nicknamed The Arabic Soprano, Zeina has performed from the world’s most prominent stages and venues; Kensington Palace, Hofburg Palace, Cadogan Hall, UNESCO Paris, Rimini Opera and the Campidoglio, to name a few. With her voice alone, she has inspired hundreds of thousands of people across Jordan, Italy, Austria, the UK, France, Ukraine, China, the UAE and Lebanon. Many prominent artists shared the stage with her, including Italian Roberto Alagna, and on the 18th of October, 2018, she was invited to perform alongside Andrea Bocelli in London.

Zeina’s influence sings beyond her voice. A pioneering spirit, she founded the Arab world’s first opera festival in 2017; the Amman Opera Festival, under the patronage of HRH Princess
Muna Al-Hussein.

Zeina’s album, Alcantra, which has her singing in a variety of languages, is her message to the world: music can and is the bridge between cultures.
She continues to carry this message, stunningly representing Jordan to the world. Only recently she performed on World Opera Day, which took place on the 25th of October, 2020, alongside opera singers from 6 continents, in collaboration with Opera for Peace and UNESCO.
